Kei Muto vs Hajime Maki

Boxing Daily Report from the AI Japan-Chiba promoted show at Matsudo Seto, Matsudo,  taking place on 23/01/2025:

There are a few empty seats out here tonight, but this is a respectable turnout for the show.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the Japan-Chiba Welterweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Kei Muto (8 - 2 - 5) who hails from Kashiwa, Japan and Hajime Maki(4 - 8 - 3 - 1(NC)) from Matsudo, Japan.  Muto weighed in at 146 pounds and 10 ounces, while Maki weighed in at 147 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Goro Horie, and the three ringside judges are Michi Anzai, Daiki Matsunaga and Daiki Fujimura.

Muto is looking to close the distance.  The two boxers are fighting in-close, but their heads clash!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Maki dabs at his face checking for damage.  Maki has been damaged by that accidental headbutt.  That has caused minor swelling  around the right eye.

Muto attempts to land a right uppercut, but Maki parries the shot and counters with a cross.  
Maki gets on the inside.  Muto voluntarily retreats back onto the ropes...he waves his opponent in!  Maki is whaling away with hooks, but Muto keeps his defence tight.  Maki lands a left hook.
