Charles Mears vs Joey Moore

Boxing Daily Report from the Elite Prizefighters promoted show at Piccadilly Hotel, Manchester,  taking place on 10/01/2025:

There are plenty of empty seats out here tonight, with the show nowhere near close to selling out.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 8 round matchup are Charles No Tears Mears (5 - 0) who hails from Coventry, UK and Joey Moore(2 - 3 - 1) from London, UK.  Both Mears and Moore weighed in at 160 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Henry Florian, and the three ringside judges are Jonathan Dunn, Hugh Hyland and John Fate.  

Round 1: 

Mears lands a hard jab.  
Mears lands a left uppercut to the body, a left hook to the body and a left hook to the head.  
Mears advances into close range and lands a right hook to the head followed by a right uppercut to the body.  
Mears lands a right hook followed by a left hook to his opponents body.

As Mears tries to work on the inside, the fighters heads come together!  The ref acknowledges the accidental headclash but allows the action to continue.    It looks like the clash of heads has caused some damage to Moore.  That has caused minor swelling  around the left eye.  
Mears pivots to the left of his opponent.  Mears lands a right hook followed by a left hook to his opponents body.  Mears clinches his opponent.  Mears uses his free hand to throw a hook, but it hits Moore behind the head. The ref breaks Mears's hold and signals for the fight to continue.

Mears gets on the inside and throws a left hook, but his opponent slips the shot and counters with a left uppercut.

Mears advances into close range and walks Moore down, trapping him on the ropes.  Mears pivots to the side of his opponent and digs in a right hook to his opponents ribs.  As the two fighters work on the inside, their heads come together!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Mears dabs at his face checking for damage.

Mears uses his free hand to throw a hook, but it hits Moore behind the head. Mears leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.

Mears advances into close range and lands two left hooks to the body, and one to the head.  
Mears manouvers Moore into a corner.  Mears connects with a cross.  
Mears gets on the inside and drives a left hook into his opponents body.  
Moore lands a jab.  
Mears digs in a right hook to Moore's body.  
Mears hits home with a left hook.  
Mears lands a left hook to the body, and then to the head.  He follows up the attack and lands a left uppercut followed by a left hook to his opponents head.  
Mears throws a left hook, but his opponent parries the shot.  Mears clinches his opponent.  As they grapple, Mears pushes his forearm into Moore's face.  The ref halts the action and breaks the clinch.  He lectures Mears about fouling.
