Sasha Bligzna vs Jevonte Nkandu

Boxing Daily Report from the Donnelly Boxing promoted show at Donnelly Gym, Kitwe,  taking place on 26/01/2025:

The venue is mostly sold out with the fans eager to turn out for tonights fights.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 6 round matchup are Sasha Bligzna (4 - 0) who hails from Riga, Latvia and Jevonte Nkandu(2 - 4 - 2) from Lusaka, Zambia.  Both Bligzna and Nkandu weighed in at 147 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Kendis Sipula, and the three ringside judges are Kaleb Mukwena, Tevin Chamuka and Deion Kalilele.  

Round 1: 

Bligzna closes the distance and lands a left hook to the head, a right hook to the body and a left uppercut to the head.  
Bligzna is looking to close the distance and lands a left hook to the body, and then to the head.  He continues the combination and lands a double left hook to his opponents head.  
Bligzna pivots to the left of his opponent and lands a jab to the head followed by a cross to the body.

Nkandu gets on the inside.  Bligzna lands a left uppercut followed by a right hook to his opponents head.  
Nkandu closes the distance and manouvers Bligzna into a corner.  Bligzna lands two right hooks followed by a left hook to his opponents head.  
Bligzna quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and lands a right hook to the body, a left hook to the body and a right hook to the head.  
Bligzna advances into close range.  Bligzna pivots to the side of his opponent.  Bligzna lands a left hook.  Bligzna tries to land a left hook, but Nkandu blocks the shot and counters with a right hook.  
Bligzna is on target with a left hook.  Bligzna holds on to his opponent.  Bligzna uses his free hand to throw a body hook, but it lands on Nkandu's kidney. Bligzna pushes his forearm into Nkandu's face.  The referee warns Bligzna and breaks the clinch.  
Bligzna steps inside.  Bligzna sidesteps to the left of his opponent.  Nkandu tries to land a right hook, but Bligzna sidesteps and counters with a left uppercut.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Nkandu's trainer is advising how he could be more accurate.  Nkandu's trainer is telling his fighter to increase his workrate.

Nkandu sidesteps to the left of his opponent.  Bligzna lands a right uppercut to the head followed by a left hook to the body.  
Bligzna closes the distance.  Bligzna quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and lands a right hook to the head, a right uppercut to the head and a right hook to the body.

Bligzna backs onto the ropes...he is waving his opponent in!  Nkandu tries to tag Bligzna on the ropes, but his opponent blocks every shot!

Bligzna tries to step out of his opponents range and lands three consecutive jabs to his opponents head.
