Fino Gabriele vs John McClay

Boxing Daily Report from the Big Bang Promotions promoted show at Big Gym, London,  taking place on 06/02/2025:

The venue is mostly sold out with the fans eager to turn out for tonights fights.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 6 round matchup are Fino Gabriele (7(5) - 0) who hails from Venice, Italy and John McClay(2 - 0 - 1) from Glasgow, UK.  Gabriele weighed in at 147 pounds, while McClay weighed in at 146 pounds and 6 ounces.  
The referee tonight is Justin Dalton, and the three ringside judges are Mark Clisham, Chris Mein and Jamie Hayes.  

Round 1: 

Gabriele connects with a right uppercut.  
Gabriele advances into close range and lands two left hooks to his opponents ribs.  He then lands two left hooks to his opponents ribs.  
Gabriele is looking to close the distance and lands a double left hook to his opponents head.  Gabriele attempts to land a left hook, but McClay sidesteps and counters with a left uppercut.  
McClay steps away from his opponent and tries to land an overhand right, but Gabriele slips the shot and counters with a left uppercut.  
Gabriele forces McClay to retreat into the corner.  Gabriele lands three consecutive right hooks to his opponents ribs.  
Gabriele lands a left hook to the body, and then to the head.  
Gabriele steps inside and is on target with a solid right hook.  
Gabriele closes the distance.  McClay throws a left hook, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a right hook.  
Gabriele connects with a firm left uppercut.  
Gabriele lands a double right hook to his opponents head.  Gabriele holds on to his opponent.  Gabriele leans on his opponent using all his weight. The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.

McClay is looking to keep the action on the outside and throws a jab, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a firm cross.

Gabriele lands a left hook to the body, and then to the head.  
Gabriele manages to force McClay into the blue corner.  Gabriele drives a right hook into McClay's ribcage.  
McClay throws a left hook, but Gabriele ties up his opponent.  McClay is using his forearm in the clinch.  The referee warns McClay and breaks the clinch.  
Gabriele throws a left hook, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a cross.  
Gabriele forces McClay to back into a neutral corner.  Gabriele lands a right uppercut to the head followed by a right hook to the body.  
Gabriele lands three consecutive right hooks to his opponents head.  
Gabriele sidesteps to the left of his opponent and lands a left hook followed by a right hook to his opponents body.

The ref acknowledges the accidental headclash but allows the action to continue.    It looks like the clash of heads has caused some damage to Gabriele.  That has caused slight swelling  around the right eye.

Gabriele lands a right hook followed by a left uppercut to his opponents body.  
McClay throws a left hook, but Gabriele ties up his opponent.  Gabriele throws a hook within the clinch but hits his opponent behind the head. The referee separates the two fighters and warns Gabriele.  
Gabriele lands a left hook to the body followed by a right uppercut to the head.  
Gabriele lands a right hook to the body, and then to the head.  
Gabriele lands two consecutive straights to his opponents head.  
Gabriele closes the distance and lands a right hook to the body, and then to the head.  HE HAS HIS OPPONENT IN TROUBLE!  McClay quickly recovers. 
McClay switches the action to the outside and lands an overhand right.  
Gabriele is looking to close the distance and lands three consecutive left hooks to his opponents ribs.  Gabriele ties up his opponent.  As they grapple, Gabriele pushes his forearm into McClay's face.  The ref halts the action and breaks the clinch.  He lectures Gabriele about fouling.

Gabriele is looking to close the distance and hits home with a right hook.  
Gabriele lands a right uppercut followed by a right hook to his opponents body, AND SENDS MCCLAY TO THE CANVAS!  He is back up on his feet at 4.  
Gabriele contemptuously drops his hands, trying to provoke his opponent.  McClay lands a cross.  
Gabriele manages to force McClay into the corner.  Gabriele sidesteps to the right of his opponent and digs in a left uppercut to McClay's body.
