Ingvar Matthiesen vs Eoin Ormonde

Boxing Daily Report from the Frank Smith’s Tea Boy Promotions promoted show at Royal Dublin Society, Dublin,  taking place on 20/03/2025:

The venue is mostly sold out with the fans eager to turn out for tonights fights.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance and those watching live on Setanta Sports, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Ingvar Matthiesen (12(4) - 1) who hails from Aarhus, Denmark and Eoin Ormonde(7 - 7 - 1) from Dublin, Ireland.  Both Matthiesen and Ormonde weighed in at 175 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Shamus Quirke, and the three ringside judges are Killian Bourne, Carl Lyons and Karl Leary.  

Round 1: 

Matthiesen advances into close range and drives a left uppercut into Ormonde's body.  
Matthiesen lands a left hook to the body, and then to the head.  
Matthiesen lands a right hook to the body followed by a left hook to the head.  
Matthiesen is on target with a right hook.  Matthiesen ties up his opponent.  Matthiesen leans on his opponent using all his weight. As they grapple, Matthiesen pushes his forearm into Ormonde's face.  The referee breaks the clinch and warns Matthiesen to stop fouling.  
Matthiesen lands a right hook followed by a left uppercut to his opponents body.  Matthiesen holds on to his opponent.  Matthiesen leans on his opponent using all his weight. The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.  
Matthiesen lands a left uppercut, right uppercut and a left uppercut to his opponents body.  Matthiesen holds on to his opponent.  Matthiesen pushes his forearm into Ormonde's face.  The referee separates the two fighters and warns Matthiesen.  
Ormonde switches the action to the outside.  Matthiesen connects with a firm cross.  
Matthiesen drives a stinging right hook into Ormonde's body.  
Matthiesen digs in a left hook to Ormonde's body.  
Matthiesen lands three consecutive left hooks to his opponents ribs.  
Matthiesen finds the target with a jab.  
Ormonde is looking to keep his distance and attempts to land a jab, but Matthiesen sidesteps and counters with a left hook.  
Ormonde manouvers his opponent onto the ropes.  Ormonde pivots to the right of his opponent and is on target with a right hook.  
Ormonde sidesteps to the left of his opponent.  Matthiesen lands a cross followed by a jab to his opponents head.  
Matthiesen is on target with a stinging left hook to his opponents ribs.  
Matthiesen gets on the inside and is on target with a sharp left hook to Ormonde's body.  Matthiesen clinches his opponent.  The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.  
Matthiesen is looking to close the distance.  Ormonde attempts to land a right uppercut, but Matthiesen slips the shot and counters with a right hook to Ormonde's body.  
Matthiesen lands a right hook followed by a left hook to his opponents body.  
Matthiesen lands a left hook to the head followed by a right hook to the body.

He follows up the attack and lands a right uppercut, left uppercut and a right hook to his opponents body, AND KNOCKS ORMONDE DOWN!  He is on his feet as the count reaches 5.  Ormonde now seems to have recovered from the bodyshot.  
Ormonde sidesteps to the right of his opponent.  Matthiesen digs in a left hook to Ormonde's body.  
Matthiesen advances into close range.  Matthiesen sidesteps to the left of his opponent.  Ormonde throws a right hook, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a firm left uppercut.  
At the end of Round 2, lets listen in on the corners...Ormonde's trainer is advising how he could be more accurate.  Ormonde's trainer is advising how he could stop so many clean shots getting through.

Matthiesen thinks he can end the show early....he's looking to put Ormonde away.  Matthiesen slams a big right hook into his opponents ribs.  ORMONDE HAS BEEN KNOCKED DOWN!  He is on his feet as the count reaches 4.  
Matthiesen forces Ormonde to retreat into a corner.  Matthiesen is on target with a telling right hook to his opponents body.  ORMONDE IS SENT SPRAWLING TO THE CANVAS!  He is on his feet as the count reaches 8.  The ref asks Ormonde to get his gloves up, but he doesnt respond.  The ref has waved the fight off...he doesnt think Ormonde can continue!
