Joshua Mensah vs Valentin Gary

Boxing Daily Report from the African Fusion promoted show at Kumasi Poku, Kumasi,  taking place on 14/02/2025:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 6 round matchup are Joshua Mensah (5 - 0) who hails from Kumasi, Ghana and Valentin Gary(11 - 4) from Abobo, Ivory Coast.  Both Mensah and Gary weighed in at 160 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Faraji Anyidoho, and the three ringside judges are Brad Kyei, Connor Salifu and Michael Salifu.  

Round 1: 

Mensah is looking to close the distance and drives a left hook into Gary's ribs.  
Mensah lands a right hook to the head followed by a left hook to the body.  Mensah holds on to his opponent.  As they grapple, Mensah pushes his forearm into Gary's face.  The ref separates the two fighters.
