Boxing Daily Report from the AI Japan-Tokyo promoted show at Dai Tano Gym, Tokyo,  taking place on 20/02/2025:

There are a few empty seats out here tonight, but this is a respectable turnout for the show.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the Japan-Tokyo Lightweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Eiji Baba (9 - 7 - 2) who hails from Tokyo, Japan and Eiji Shibata(10 - 5 - 2) from Tokyo, Japan.  Both Baba and Shibata weighed in at 135 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Jiro Fukumoto, and the three ringside judges are Nori Saito, Goro Oyama and Hiroki Amaya.  

Round 1: 

Shibata advances into close range.  Baba lands a left hook to the body followed by a right uppercut to the head.  
Shibata manouvers Baba onto the ropes.  Shibata lands a left hook.  
Baba is on target with a cross.  
Shibata gets on the inside.  Baba is on target with a left uppercut.  
Shibata pivots to the left of his opponent.  Shibata attempts to land a right uppercut, but Baba sidesteps and counters with a left hook to his opponents body.  
Baba lands an overhand left.  
Shibata manouvers Baba into the corner.  Baba tries to land a jab, but Shibata slips the shot and counters with a left hook.  
Shibata is on target with a cross.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Baba's trainer is passing on some tactical advice.  Shibata's trainer is advising how he could improve the accuracy of his work.  Shibata's trainer is telling his fighter he needs to be more active or he's going to get outworked.

Shibata quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent.  Baba is on target with a cross.  
Shibata gets on the inside and lands a left hook.  
Baba drives a jab into his opponents body.
