John Binning vs Jack McNichols

Boxing Daily Report from the Frank Smith’s Tea Boy Promotions promoted show at Frank Gym, Manchester,  taking place on 20/02/2025:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 6 round matchup are John Binning (6 - 0) who hails from Coventry, UK and Jack McNichols(3 - 2 - 1) from London, UK.  Binning weighed in at 135 pounds, while McNichols weighed in at 134 pounds and 12 ounces.  
The referee tonight is Kieran Saunders, and the three ringside judges are John Magee, Ibrahim Mohammad and Mark Bonnar.  

Round 1: 

McNichols gets on the inside.  Binning lands a left uppercut followed by a right hook to his opponents head.  
Binning throws a left hook, but his opponent parries the shot.  Binning holds on to his opponent.  Binning is using his forearm in the clinch.  The ref separates the two fighters.

Binning advances into close range and lands two left hooks to the body, and one to the head.

McNichols gets on the inside and throws a left hook, but Binning clinches his opponent.  Binning is using his forearm in the clinch.  The ref halts the action and breaks the clinch.  He lectures Binning about fouling.

McNichols pivots to the left of his opponent.  Binning lands a right hook followed by a left hook to his opponents head.  
Binning hits home with a left uppercut.  
McNichols steps inside.  Binning lands a right hook followed by a left uppercut to his opponents head.  
Binning hits home with a right uppercut.  
Binning lands a right hook followed by a left hook to his opponents body.  Binning ties up his opponent.  As they grapple, Binning pushes his forearm into McNichols's face.  The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.  
Binning lands a right hook to the body followed by a left hook to the head.  
Binning sidesteps to the left of his opponent and hits home with a left uppercut.  
At the end of Round 2, lets listen in on the corners...McNichols's trainer is suggesting ways of getting through to his opponent.  McNichols's trainer is passing on some tactical advice.

McNichols feints a right, and then hits home with a cross.  
Binning advances into close range.  As McNichols tries to work on the inside, the fighters heads come together!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Binning dabs at his face checking for damage.  Binning has been damaged by that accidental headbutt.  That has caused slight swelling  around the left eye.  
Binning lands a right uppercut followed by a right hook to his opponents head.  
Binning lands a left hook.  
Binning feints a left, and then lands a cross.  
Binning lands a right hook.  
Binning manouvers his opponent into the red corner.  Binning lands a right hook.  
At the end of Round 3, lets listen in on the corners...McNichols's trainer is telling his fighter he is being outworked and needs to throw more.

McNichols quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent.  McNichols throws a left uppercut, but Binning ties up his opponent.  Binning tries to make the space to throw a hook, but hits McNichols's kidney. The ref separates the two fighters.

Binning is on target with a jab.  
McNichols hits home with a cross.  
McNichols tries to land a left hook, but Binning parries the shot and counters with a right uppercut.  
Binning digs in a right uppercut to McNichols's body.  
Binning is looking to close the distance and lands a right hook followed by a left hook to his opponents head.  
Binning steps inside.  As McNichols tries to work on the inside, the fighters heads come together!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Binning dabs at his face checking for damage.
