Alfonso Serna vs Cortez Tapia

Boxing Daily Report from the AI Mexico-Jalisco promoted show at Rodrigo Olan Gym, Zapopan,  taking place on 23/02/2025:

There are plenty of empty seats out here tonight, with the show nowhere near close to selling out.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the Mexico-Jalisco Super Bantamweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Alfonso Serna (12 - 4 - 4) who hails from Guadalajara, Mexico and Cortez Tapia(8 - 8 - 1) from Guadalajara, Mexico.  Both Serna and Tapia weighed in at 122 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Pedro Mieras, and the three ringside judges are Quito Miera, Ovidio Cerrato and Montel Villalta.  

Round 1: 

Tapia is looking to close the distance and connects with a left uppercut.  
Serna hits home with a right hook.

Tapia steps inside.  Serna quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and lands a left hook.  
Tapia forces Serna to retreat onto the ropes.  Tapia pivots to the left of his opponent.  Serna tries to land a right hook, but his opponent parries the shot and counters with a left hook.  
Serna is looking to keep his distance.  Tapia lowers his hands, trying to provoke his opponent to attack.  Serna drives a cross into Tapia's body.
