Arnie Owen vs Mark Steele

Boxing Daily Report from the AI USA-California promoted show at San Joaquin County Fairgrounds, Stockton,  taking place on 12/03/2025:

Clearly AI USA-California have made a mistake booking this venue with less than half the tickets sold, including those handed out as prizes by Boxing Daily.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Arnie Owen (11(4) - 0) who hails from Bakersfield, USA and Mark Steele(8 - 11 - 2) from Denver, USA.  Both Owen and Steele weighed in at 135 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Juan Espin, and the three ringside judges are Blake Travis, Zuffur Sylla and Michael Rice.  

Round 1: 

Owen advances into close range and lands a right uppercut to the body followed by a right hook to the head.  Owen holds on to his opponent.  Owen pushes his forearm into Steele's face.  The referee warns Owen and breaks the clinch.  
Owen lands a left uppercut to the body, a right hook to the head and a left uppercut to the head.  Owen clinches his opponent.  Owen is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.  
Owen lands a left hook to the body, and then to the head.  Owen ties up his opponent.  Owen pushes his forearm into Steele's face.  The ref breaks Owen's hold and signals for the fight to continue.  
Owen forces Steele to back into the corner.  Owen is on target with a firm left hook to his opponents body.  
Owen lands a right uppercut to the body followed by a right hook to the head.  
Owen lands a right hook to the head followed by a left uppercut to the body.  Owen ties up his opponent.  Owen throws a hook within the clinch but hits his opponent behind the head. The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.

Owen advances into close range and cuts off the ring, trapping Steele in a corner.  Owen lands a right uppercut to the head followed by a right hook to the body.

Owen throws a right hook, but his opponent avoids the punch.  Owen ties up his opponent.  Owen is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.

Steele switches the action to the outside.  Owen lands a double jab to his opponents head.

At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Steele's trainer is telling his fighter to increase his workrate.  Steele's trainer is advising how he could improve his defence.

Steele throws a jab, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a left uppercut.  
Owen lands a right hook to the body followed by a left hook to the head.  
Owen hits home with a left hook.  
Owen lands a left hook to the body, a left uppercut to the body and a right uppercut to the head.  
Owen walks Steele down, trapping him in the corner.  Owen digs in a right uppercut to his opponents body.  As the two fighters work on the inside, their heads come together!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Owen dabs at his face checking for damage.

Owen lands a straight 1 - 2.  
Owen connects with a sharp left hook.  
Owen walks his opponent onto the ropes.  Owen throws a left uppercut, but his opponent dodges the shot and counters with a left hook.

Owen drives a sharp left hook into Steele's ribs.  
Owen lands a cross followed by a jab to his opponents head.
