Boxing Daily Report from the Gold Coast Promotions promoted show at Towson Center, Baltimore,  taking place on 05/04/2025:

There are a few empty seats out here tonight, but this is a respectable turnout for the show.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance and those watching live on Fox Sports, the two fighters competing in this 12 round matchup are Jose Rafael (13(10) - 0) who hails from Huacho, Peru and Matt Grandison(9(1) - 1) from Atlanta, USA.  Rafael weighed in at 199 pounds and 13 ounces, while Grandison weighed in at 200 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Jamie Bigg, and the three ringside judges are Ewan Pickens, Chris Sandison and Chris Sandison.  

Round 1: 

Grandison steps inside.  Grandison sidesteps to the right of his opponent.  Grandison is on target with a left hook.  Grandison tries to land a left hook, but Rafael slips the shot and counters with a left uppercut.  
Rafael is on target with a stinging cross.  
Rafael is looking to keep his distance.  Grandison attempts to land a cross, but Rafael slips the shot and counters with a stinging left hook.

Rafael tries to keep the action at long range and lands two consecutive straights to his opponents head.  
Grandison is looking to close the distance and walks Rafael onto the ropes.  Rafael lands a sharp right hook.

Grandison advances into close range.  Rafael drives a sharp right uppercut into his opponents body.

Rafael lands a jab to his opponents body.  
Rafael lands a cross to the body, and then to the head, AND HIS OPPONENT IS HURT!  Grandison quickly recovers. 
Grandison tries to step out of his opponents range.  Rafael sidesteps to the right of his opponent and lands a jab to the head, a cross to the head and a jab to the body.  
Grandison advances into close range and forces Rafael to back into the corner.  Grandison pivots to the right of his opponent.  Rafael tries to land a left uppercut, but Grandison blocks the shot and counters with a right hook.  
Rafael lands a left hook followed by a right hook to his opponents head.  The two boxers are fighting in-close, but their heads clash!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Grandison dabs at his face checking for damage.  
Grandison lands a left hook to the head followed by a right hook to the body.  Rafael ties up his opponent.  Rafael is using his forearm in the clinch.  The referee separates the two fighters and warns Rafael.  
Rafael tries to step out of his opponents range and is on target with a cross.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Grandison's trainer is advising how he could improve the accuracy of his work.

Rafael closes the distance.  Rafael sidesteps to the left of his opponent.  Grandison lands a left hook to the head followed by a right hook to the body.  Rafael ties up his opponent.  Grandison leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. As they grapple, Grandison pushes his forearm into Rafael's face.  The referee breaks the clinch and warns Grandison to stop fouling.  
Rafael tries to keep the action at long range and lands a double jab to his opponents head.  
Rafael finds the target with a jab.  
Rafael steps to the outside and lands a cross, jab and a cross to his opponents head.  
Rafael steps away from his opponent and lands a cross, overhand left and a cross to his opponents head.  
Rafael lands a FIERCE cross.  GRANDISON IS SENT SPRAWLING TO THE CANVAS!  He beats the count, getting up at 5.  
Grandison attempts to land an overhand left, but Rafael sidesteps and counters with a solid left hook.  
Grandison sidesteps to the right of his opponent.  Rafael finds the target with a jab.  
Rafael steps away from his opponent.  Grandison lands a cross.  
Rafael lands a ramrod jab.  
Rafael steps to the outside and lands with a hard jab.  
Grandison is looking to close the distance.  Rafael digs in a solid left hook to his opponents body.  Rafael throws a left hook, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a right uppercut.  
Grandison quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent.  Grandison is on target with a right uppercut to Rafael's ribcage.  Grandison throws a right hook, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a left hook.  
Rafael pivots from in front of his opponent and lands a cross followed by a jab to his opponents head.  
Rafael tries to step out of his opponents range.  Grandison tries to land a jab, but Rafael blocks the shot and counters with a cross.  
Rafael hits home with a weighty cross.  GRANDISON WAS STUNNED BY THAT SHOT!  Grandison recovers before his opponent can take advantage.

Grandison is on target with a right hook to Rafael's body.  Rafael clinches his opponent.  Grandison leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.  
Grandison steps inside and tries to land a right hook, but his opponent parries the shot and counters with a stinging cross.  
Rafael is looking to keep his distance and lands a stinging cross.  
Rafael attempts to land a cross, but Grandison blocks the shot and counters with a left uppercut.  
Grandison walks his opponent onto the ropes.  Rafael lands a spiteful jab.

Grandison switches the action to the outside and lands a cross followed by a overhand left to his opponents head.  Grandison throws a cross, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a left uppercut to his opponents body.  
Rafael switches the action to the outside.  Grandison quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent.  Grandison attempts to land a cross, but Rafael dodges the shot and counters with a FEROCIOUS right uppercut.  GRANDISON WAS STUNNED BY THAT SHOT!  Grandison quickly recovers. 
Grandison closes the distance and walks his opponent down, trapping him on the ropes.  Rafael lands a right hook to the body, a left uppercut to the head and a left hook to the head.  
Rafael lands a right hook to the body, a right uppercut to the body and a right hook to the head.  THAT HURT HIS OPPONENT!  As Grandison tries to work on the inside, the fighters heads come together!  The ref acknowledges the accidental headclash but allows the action to continue.  Rafael has taken some damage there.  That has caused minor swelling  around the right eye.  
Rafael senses his opponent is hurt.  He is looking to stop Grandison and just needs the right shot.  Rafael lands a left uppercut followed by  two right hooks to his opponents body, AND DROPS GRANDISON TO THE CANVAS!  He is back up on his feet at 5.  
Rafael lands a left uppercut followed by a right hook to his opponents body.  He follows up the attack and lands two left hooks to his opponents ribs, AND SENDS GRANDISON SPRAWLING TO THE CANVAS!  He is still struggling to his feet as the count reaches 10!  The winner by KO is Rafael!
