Blake Hume vs Takeshi Takara

Boxing Daily Report from the Hennessy Boxing promoted show at Melbourne Sports & Aquatic Centre, Melbourne,  taking place on 15/03/2025:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 12 round matchup are Blake Hume (5 - 0) who hails from Newcastle, Australia and Takeshi Takara(7 - 5 - 2) from Chiba, Japan.  Both Hume and Takara weighed in at 175 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Steven Malas, and the three ringside judges are Paul Lawrie, Nathan Savas and Dom Clapperton.  

Round 1: 

Hume advances into close range and hits home with a left hook.  
Takara throws a jab, but his opponent parries the shot and counters with a left hook.  
Hume lands a left uppercut followed by a left hook to his opponents head.  
Hume is on target with a left uppercut to his opponents liver.  Hume ties up his opponent.  As they grapple, Hume pushes his forearm into Takara's face.  The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.  
Takara throws a right uppercut, but Hume clinches his opponent.  Hume tries to make the space to throw a hook, but hits Takara behind the head. Hume throws a hook within the clinch but hits his opponent behind the head. The ref halts the action and breaks the clinch.  He lectures Hume about fouling.

Takara tries to keep the action at long range.  Hume is on target with an overhand right.  
Hume throws a left hook, but his opponent avoids the punch with a sidestep.  Hume clinches his opponent.  Hume leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.  
Takara attempts to land a cross, but Hume dodges the shot and counters with a left hook.
