Asif Lagab vs Atif Kerboua

Boxing Daily Report from the AI Algeria-Alger promoted show at Algiers Daid, Algiers,  taking place on 14/03/2025:

There are a few empty seats out here tonight, but this is a respectable turnout for the show.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a mandatory fight for the Algeria-Alger Super Lightweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance and those watching live on Canal Algérie, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Asif Lagab (7 - 6 - 3) who hails from Algiers, Algeria and Atif Kerboua(9 - 5(1) - 3) from Algiers, Algeria.  Both Lagab and Kerboua weighed in at 140 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Danyaal Sidi, and the three ringside judges are Farhan Merah, Faisal Lahcen and Ahmed Khenniche.  

Round 1: 

Lagab tries to step out of his opponents range and tries to land a jab, but Kerboua blocks the shot and counters with a right uppercut.

Kerboua closes the distance and manouvers Lagab onto the ropes.  Lagab throws a left uppercut, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a cross.  
Lagab goes for the bodyshot, but lands south of the border!  The ref stops the action.  The ref sends Kerboua to the neutral corner.  He warns Lagab that he could be heading for a point deduction.  
Kerboua is looking to close the distance.  Lagab sidesteps to the left of his opponent.  Kerboua drives a right hook into Lagab's body.  
Lagab tries to land a right uppercut, but Kerboua blocks the shot and counters with a cross.
