Gig Portilla vs Ovidio Mercedes

Boxing Daily Report from the AI Colombia-Antioquia promoted show at Medellin Carrera, Medellin,  taking place on 16/03/2025:

There are a few empty seats out here tonight, but this is a respectable turnout for the show.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a mandatory fight for the Colombia-Antioquia Bantamweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance and those watching live on CARACOL, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Gig Portilla (8 - 0) who hails from Bello, Colombia and Ovidio Mercedes(11 - 4 - 2) from Medellin, Colombia.  Portilla weighed in at 117 pounds and 15 ounces, while Mercedes weighed in at 118 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Alejandro Forero, and the three ringside judges are Diego Macias, Alejandro Yero and Fausto Sergio.
