Jack McNaughton vs Richie Bortone

Boxing Daily Report from the JSW promoted show at Olympic Park Sports Centre, Sydney,  taking place on 19/04/2025:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the Australia Lightweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance and those watching live on SBS1, the two fighters competing in this 12 round matchup are Jack McNaughton (9 - 0) who hails from Adelaide, Australia and Richie Bortone(8 - 2 - 2) from Brisbane, Australia.  Both McNaughton and Bortone weighed in at 135 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Bob Hails, and the three ringside judges are David Corrie, Brad Carvelli and Max Ogletree.  

Round 1: 

Bortone lands a cross.  
McNaughton tries to step out of his opponents range and hits home with a cross.  
McNaughton lands a cross followed by a jab to his opponents head.  McNaughton throws a jab, but his opponent slips the shot and counters with a cross.

McNaughton is looking to keep the action on the outside and lands a jab to the head followed by a cross to the body.
