Rex Douillet vs John Marquis

Boxing Daily Report from the AI USA-Connecticut promoted show at Circle Hotel, Bridgeport,  taking place on 13/03/2025:

There are a few empty seats out here tonight, but this is a respectable turnout for the show.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 8 round matchup are Rex Douillet (3 - 0) who hails from Pittsburgh, USA and John Marquis(1 - 0 - 3) from Charleston, USA.  Both Douillet and Marquis weighed in at 175 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Hayden Blacketer, and the three ringside judges are Gus Phemister, Mike Dysart and Ethan Boliver.  

Round 1: 

Douillet steps inside.  Marquis throws a right uppercut, but Douillet ties up his opponent.  Douillet is using his forearm in the clinch.  The ref halts the action and breaks the clinch.  He lectures Douillet about fouling.

Douillet sidesteps to the right of his opponent and is on target with a cross.  
Douillet is looking to close the distance and drives a left uppercut into Marquis's liver.  
Douillet drives a left hook into his opponents ribs.  Douillet clinches his opponent.  The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.

Marquis switches the action to the outside.  Douillet connects with a sharp overhand left.
