Ovidio Jiminez vs Joaquin Belmonte

Boxing Daily Report from the Rourke & Salvador promoted show at Joaquin Belasco Gym, Córdoba,  taking place on 23/02/2025:

There are plenty of empty seats out here tonight, with the show nowhere near close to selling out.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 4 round matchup are Ovidio Jiminez (0 - 0) who hails from Rosario, Argentina and Joaquin Belmonte(0 - 1) from Buenos Aires, Argentina.  Both Jiminez and Belmonte weighed in at 108 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Ponce Tinoco, and the three ringside judges are Jaguar Simeon, Kiki Alvidrez and Jaguar Simeon.  

Round 1: 

Jiminez is looking to close the distance and digs in a left hook to Belmonte's ribs.  Jiminez holds on to his opponent.  Jiminez hits his opponent with a kidney shot within the clinch. The ref halts the action and breaks the clinch.  He lectures Jiminez about fouling.

Jiminez lands a right uppercut to the body followed by a left hook to the head.  Jiminez ties up his opponent.  Belmonte throws a hook within the clinch but hits his opponent behind the head. The referee warns Belmonte and breaks the clinch.
