Ora Nicodemus vs Jun Kobashigawa

Boxing Daily Report from the AL Promotions promoted show at AL Gym, Fukuoka,  taking place on 01/03/2025:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 6 round matchup are Ora Nicodemus (2 - 0) who hails from Camaguey, Cuba and Jun Kobashigawa(0 - 1 - 1) from Tokyo, Japan.  Both Nicodemus and Kobashigawa weighed in at 126 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Hisao Kamei, and the three ringside judges are Iwao Kusumoto, Hiroki Sawa and Satoshi Murata.  

Round 1: 

Nicodemus steps inside.  Nicodemus pivots to the side of his opponent and lands a right hook followed by a left hook to his opponents head.  
Nicodemus digs in a left uppercut to his opponents ribs.  
Nicodemus finds the target with a jab.  
Nicodemus is looking to close the distance.  Nicodemus pivots to the side of his opponent.  Kobashigawa throws a left hook, but his opponent slips the shot and counters with a left hook to Kobashigawa's body.  
Nicodemus pivots to the left of his opponent andAs Kobashigawa tries to work on the inside, the fighters heads come together!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Nicodemus dabs at his face checking for damage.  
Nicodemus steps inside.  Nicodemus pivots from in front of his opponent and lands a left uppercut followed by a right hook to his opponents head.  
Nicodemus lands a right hook followed by a left hook to his opponents head.  Kobashigawa wants to work on the inside, but accidentally clashes heads with his opponent!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Nicodemus dabs at his face checking for damage.  
Nicodemus sidesteps to the right of his opponent.  Kobashigawa throws a left hook, but Nicodemus holds on to his opponent.  Nicodemus pushes his forearm into Kobashigawa's face.  The ref halts the action and breaks the clinch.  He lectures Nicodemus about fouling.  
Nicodemus lands a left uppercut followed by  two left hooks to his opponents head.  
Nicodemus pivots to the right of his opponent and digs in a left hook to his opponents body.  
Nicodemus lands a right uppercut followed by a left hook to his opponents head.  
Nicodemus manouvers Kobashigawa onto the ropes.  Nicodemus lands a right uppercut followed by a left hook to his opponents body.  
Kobashigawa gets on the inside.  Nicodemus is on target with a right uppercut to Kobashigawa's body.  
Nicodemus lands a left hook.  
Nicodemus retreats back to the ropes, and waits for his opponent to attack.  Kobashigawa tries to tag Nicodemus on the ropes, but his opponent blocks every shot!  
Nicodemus lands a left hook followed by a right hook to his opponents body.  
Nicodemus gets on the inside and digs in a stinging right hook to Kobashigawa's ribcage.  Nicodemus ties up his opponent.  Nicodemus leans on his opponent using all his weight. The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.  
Kobashigawa connects with a right hook.  
Nicodemus is on target with a jab.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Kobashigawa's trainer is advising how he could be more accurate.  Kobashigawa's trainer is telling his fighter he is being outworked and needs to throw more.  Kobashigawa's trainer is passing on some tactical advice.
