Davie Olando vs John Gikonyo

Boxing Daily Report from the Konga Promotions promoted show at Nairobi Ammar, Nairobi,  taking place on 24/03/2025:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the Kenya Light Heavyweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance and those watching live on KTV, the two fighters competing in this 12 round matchup are Davie Olando (7 - 6 - 2) who hails from Mombasa, Kenya and John Gikonyo(6 - 3 - 1) from Nairobi, Kenya.  Both Olando and Gikonyo weighed in at 175 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Manu Yator, and the three ringside judges are Rehan Abed, Shaun Chelangat and Chris Birir.  

Round 1: 

Olando throws a jab, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a left uppercut.  
Gikonyo pivots to the right of his opponent.  Olando is on target with a left hook.  
Gikonyo steps inside and walks Olando into a corner.  Gikonyo lands a left hook.  
Gikonyo lands two consecutive straights to his opponents head.
