Eloy Polon vs Roman Monreal

Boxing Daily Report from the Aqua Marines Promotions promoted show at Sixto Escobar Stadium, San Juan,  taking place on 05/04/2025:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the Puerto Rico Super Lightweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 12 round matchup are Eloy Polon (2 - 3 - 2) who hails from Carolina, Puerto Rico and Roman Monreal(14(3) - 1) from San Juan, Puerto Rico.  Polon weighed in at 139 pounds and 3 ounces, while Monreal weighed in at 140 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Xaverius Fallas, and the three ringside judges are Juan Laurel, Ignado Montalvan and Lisandro Barillas.  

Round 1: 

Monreal lands a jab to the head, a cross to the head and a left hook to the body.  
Monreal advances into close range and lands a left hook to the body, and then to the head.  He then lands a right hook to the body, and then to the head.  
Monreal closes the distance and lands a right hook to the head followed by a right uppercut to the body.  
Monreal manouvers his opponent onto the ropes.  Monreal lands a straight 1 - 2.  He then lands a cross followed by a right hook to his opponents head.  
Monreal connects with a sharp cross.  Monreal tries to land a jab, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a cross.  
Monreal feints a cross, fooling Polon into launching a left uppercut counter.  Monreal springs the trap and counters with  a right hook.  
Monreal is looking to keep his distance and lands a straight 1 - 2.  
Polon tries to keep the action at long range.  Polon sidesteps to the left of his opponent.  Monreal lands a hard jab.  
Monreal lands a cross.  
Monreal steps inside and lands a right hook followed by a left uppercut to his opponents head.  
Monreal lands a right hook to the body, and then to the head.  Monreal holds on to his opponent.  Monreal leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.  
Polon is looking to keep his distance and lands a cross.  
Monreal hits home with an overhand right.  
Polon quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and is on target with a jab.  
Monreal is looking to keep the action on the outside and connects with a sharp overhand left.  
Polon throws a jab, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a right uppercut.  
Polon is on target with a cross.  
Monreal is looking to close the distance.  Monreal pivots from in front of his opponent and digs in a right hook to Polon's ribcage.

Monreal feints a left hook, and then lands a straight 1 - 2.  
Monreal advances into close range.  Monreal pivots to the left of his opponent and is on target with a left uppercut.  
Polon switches the action to the outside.  Monreal waits at the mid-range with a lowered guard, waiting for his opponent to throw a punch.  Polon throws a cross, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a sharp right uppercut.  
Monreal steps inside and lands a right uppercut to the head followed by a left hook to the body.  
Monreal lands a cross.  
Polon steps away from his opponent and is on target with a cross.  
Monreal lands a hard jab.  
Monreal lands a left hook to the body, and then to the head.  He then lands two consecutive straights to his opponents head, AND STUNS HIS OPPONENT!  Polon quickly recovers. 
Monreal gets on the inside and lands a left uppercut followed by a left hook to his opponents head.  
Monreal advances into close range and lands a right hook to the head followed by a left hook to the body.  He then lands a left hook to the head followed by a left uppercut to the body.  
Monreal advances into close range and lands a left uppercut to the head followed by a right hook to the body.  He continues the combination and lands a right hook to the body followed by a right uppercut to the head.  
Monreal lands a left hook to the head, a right hook to the body and a left hook to the body.  
At the end of Round 2, lets listen in on the corners...Polon's trainer is suggesting ways of getting through to his opponent.  Polon's trainer is telling his fighter to increase his workrate.  Polon's trainer is telling his fighter to tighten his defence.

Monreal lands a double right hook to his opponents head, AND POLON IS KNOCKED DOWN!  He remains on the canvas as the count reaches 10!  The winner by KO is Monreal!
