Jordan Mower vs Mel Housler

Boxing Daily Report from the AI USA-New York State promoted show at Felippe Orihuela Gym, New York City,  taking place on 02/04/2025:

Clearly AI USA-New York State have made a mistake booking this venue with less than half the tickets sold, including those handed out as prizes by Boxing Daily.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a mandatory fight for the USA-New York State Light Heavyweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance and those watching live on Fight Now TV, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Jordan Mower (12 - 4 - 1) who hails from Buffalo, USA and Mel Housler(7 - 4 - 3) from New York City, USA.  Both Mower and Housler weighed in at 175 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Rob Abbey, and the three ringside judges are Peter Gatti, John Purcell and John Peavey.  

Round 1: 

Housler sidesteps to the right of his opponent.  Housler attempts to land a jab, but Mower sidesteps and counters with a left uppercut.  
Mower steps to the outside and lands an overhand right.  
Mower advances into close range and lands a left hook.  
Mower pivots from in front of his opponent.  Mower attempts to land a cross, but Housler slips the shot and counters with a right uppercut.  
Mower switches the action to the outside.  Housler quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and connects with an overhand right.  
Mower walks his opponent down, trapping him in a corner.  Mower pivots from in front of his opponent.  Housler is on target with a left hook.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Mower's trainer is advising how he could improve the accuracy of his work.  Mower's trainer is passing on some tactical advice.

Housler closes the distance.  As the two fighters work on the inside, their heads come together!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Housler dabs at his face checking for damage.

Mower is looking to close the distance.  Housler hits home with a right hook.  
Housler connects with a cross.

Housler is looking to keep the action on the outside.  Mower connects with an overhand left.  
Housler closes the distance.  Housler sidesteps to the left of his opponent.  Mower lands a left hook.  As the two fighters work on the inside, their heads come together!  The ref acknowledges the accidental headclash but allows the action to continue.    It looks like the clash of heads has caused some damage to Housler.  That has caused nasty swelling  around the left eye.  The ref has ruled that the fight cannot continue due to the accidental damage.  We are going to the scorecards.
