Kazuhiko Sonoda vs Dai Watanabe

Boxing Daily Report from the Shungwa Promotions promoted show at Mitsui Garden Center Kashiwa-no-ha, Kashiwa,  taking place on 15/04/2025:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  On the line tonight is the Japan-Chiba Bantamweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Kazuhiko Sonoda (12(6) - 1) who hails from Chiba, Japan and Dai Watanabe(7 - 5 - 2) from Matsudo, Japan.  Sonoda weighed in at 117 pounds and 12 ounces, while Watanabe weighed in at 118 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Ichiro Tsukamoto, and the three ringside judges are Fumio Hirano, Kazuki Sanda and Takeshi Shimomura.  

Round 1: 

Watanabe is looking to close the distance.  Sonoda lands two consecutive right uppercuts to his opponents head.  Sonoda clinches his opponent.  Sonoda is using his forearm in the clinch.  The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.
