Xavion Cal vs Gareth Leamon

Boxing Daily Report from the Frank Smith’s Tea Boy Promotions promoted show at Event City, Manchester,  taking place on 28/04/2025:

There are a few empty seats out here tonight, but this is a respectable turnout for the show.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance and those watching live on Premier Sports, the two fighters competing in this 6 round matchup are Xavion Cal (6(1) - 1) who hails from Bahía Blanca, Argentina and Gareth Leamon(3 - 2 - 1) from London, UK.  Both Cal and Leamon weighed in at 135 pounds.  
The referee tonight is William McCorkel, and the three ringside judges are Jack Keefe, Arthur MacGuire and Sammy Dunkerson.  

Round 1: 

Cal lands a jab to the head, a right hook to the body and a jab to the head.  
Cal pivots to the left of his opponent.  Leamon tries to land a jab, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a left hook.  
Cal is on target with a left hook to his opponents body.  
Cal is looking to close the distance.  Cal pivots to the right of his opponent.  Leamon tries to land a right hook, but Cal slips the shot and counters with a left uppercut.  
Leamon throws a left hook, but his opponent parries the shot.  Cal ties up his opponent.  As they grapple, Cal pushes his forearm into Leamon's face.  The referee breaks the clinch and warns Cal to stop fouling.  
Cal lands a right hook to the body followed by a left hook to the head.  Cal holds on to his opponent.  Cal is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.  
Cal lands a left hook to the body followed by a right hook to the head.  Cal clinches his opponent.  Cal uses his free hand to throw a hook, but it hits Leamon behind the head. The referee warns Cal and breaks the clinch.  
Cal is on target with a left hook to his opponents body.  
Cal lands a left hook to the body, and then to the head.  
Cal pivots from in front of his opponent and digs in a right hook to Leamon's body.  
Cal lands a right hook followed by a left uppercut to his opponents body.  
Cal lands a right uppercut followed by a right hook to his opponents body.  Cal ties up his opponent.  Cal leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.  
Leamon tries to land a jab, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a right hook.  
Cal is looking to close the distance.  Leamon throws a left uppercut, but his opponent slips the shot and counters with a left uppercut to Leamon's body.  
Cal is on target with a left hook to Leamon's liver.  
Leamon is looking to keep his distance.  Cal hits home with a hard jab.  
Leamon throws a left hook, but his opponent parries the shot and counters with a right uppercut.  
Cal steps inside and cuts off the ring, trapping Leamon in a corner.  Cal lands a left uppercut followed by a left hook to his opponents body.  
Cal lands two left hooks to his opponents ribs.  
Cal lands two right hooks to the body, and one to the head.  
Cal lands two left uppercuts to the body, and one to the head.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Leamon's trainer is telling his fighter he is being outworked and needs to throw more.  Leamon's trainer is passing on some tactical advice.  Leamon's trainer is advising how he could improve his defence.

Leamon switches the action to the outside.  Cal hits home with an overhand right.
