Davorin Brgan vs Alojzije Alajbeg

Boxing Daily Report from the Ognjen promoted show at Športska dvorana Dinko Lukarić, Rijeka,  taking place on 12/04/2025:

There are a few empty seats out here tonight, but this is a respectable turnout for the show.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 6 round matchup are Davorin Brgan (5 - 0) who hails from Zagreb, Croatia and Alojzije Alajbeg(6 - 7 - 1) from Rijeka, Croatia.  Brgan weighed in at 147 pounds, while Alajbeg weighed in at 146 pounds and 9 ounces.  
The referee tonight is Srecko Vujnovic, and the three ringside judges are Filip Medancic, Domagoj Škvorc and Andro Bunic.  

Round 1: 

Brgan steps inside and throws a right uppercut, but his opponent sidesteps.  Brgan ties up his opponent.  Brgan is using his forearm in the clinch.  The ref halts the action and breaks the clinch.  He lectures Brgan about fouling.  
Brgan lands a left uppercut followed by a left hook to his opponents head.  
Brgan lands a right hook to the head followed by a left hook to the body.  
Brgan walks Alajbeg down, trapping him in the blue corner.  Brgan lands a right hook to the body, and then to the head.  
Alajbeg throws a right hook, but Brgan holds on to his opponent.  Brgan is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. Brgan pushes his forearm into Alajbeg's face.  The referee breaks the clinch and warns Brgan to stop fouling.  
Brgan is on target with a stinging left hook to Alajbeg's ribs.  
Brgan hits home with a stiff jab.  
Alajbeg is looking to close the distance.  Brgan is on target with a left hook.  
Brgan lands a left uppercut to the head followed by a left hook to the body.  
Brgan lands a left hook followed by a left uppercut to his opponents head.  Brgan clinches his opponent.  Brgan leans on his opponent using all his weight. The ref breaks Brgan's hold and signals for the fight to continue.  
Brgan lands two left hooks followed by a right hook to his opponents head.  
Brgan is on target with a stinging right hook.  Brgan tries to land a right hook, but his opponent slips the shot and counters with a left hook.  
Brgan throws a right uppercut, but his opponent steps away from the shot.  Brgan holds on to his opponent.  Brgan leans on his opponent using all his weight. The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.  
Alajbeg feints a jab, and then lands a cross.  
Brgan advances into close range and connects with a right hook.  
Brgan quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and is on target with a stinging left hook.  
Brgan steps inside.  As the two fighters work on the inside, their heads come together!  The ref acknowledges the accidental headclash but allows the action to continue.    It looks like the clash of heads has caused some damage to Alajbeg.  That has caused bad swelling  around the right eye.  
Brgan sidesteps to the left of his opponent.  Alajbeg throws a short cross to the body, but lands low!  The ref stops the action and gives Brgan time to recover.  
Brgan pivots from in front of his opponent.  Brgan throws a left uppercut, but his opponent slips the shot and counters with a left hook.  
Brgan gets on the inside and drives a left hook into his opponents liver.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Alajbeg's trainer is advising how he could be more accurate.  Alajbeg's trainer is telling his fighter he needs to be more active or he's going to get outworked.  Alajbeg's trainer is passing on some tactical advice.
