Senon Pilar vs Diego Soza

Boxing Daily Report from the Bos Firefighters promoted show at UNF Arena, Jacksonville,  taking place on 25/04/2025:

There are a few empty seats out here tonight, but this is a respectable turnout for the show.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the Americas Featherweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 12 round matchup are Senon Pilar (14(1) - 2 - 1) who hails from Leon, Nicaragua and Diego Soza(14(6) - 4(3)) from Santo Domingo de Guzman, Dominican Republic.  Both Pilar and Soza weighed in at 126 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Sam Dickins, and the three ringside judges are Glynn Mescall, Daniel Wright and Chris Villalta.  

Round 1: 

Pilar tries to step out of his opponents range and is on target with a cross.  
Soza sidesteps to the left of his opponent and lands two consecutive straights to his opponents head.  
Soza lands a double jab to his opponents head.  
Soza steps inside and walks his opponent onto the ropes.  Soza lands a left hook to the head followed by a right hook to the body.  
Soza is looking to keep his distance and connects with a cross.  
Soza connects with an overhand right.  
Soza gets on the inside.  Pilar digs in a right hook to Soza's ribs.  
Soza steps away from his opponent.  Soza lowers his hands, trying to provoke his opponent to attack.  Pilar finds the target with a jab.  Pilar attempts to land a jab, but Soza slips the shot and counters with a left uppercut.  
Soza sidesteps to the right of his opponent.  Pilar lands a right hook to the body followed by a right uppercut to the head.  
Soza pivots to the side of his opponent and lands a left hook to the body followed by a right hook to the head.  
Soza pivots to the side of his opponent and is on target with a firm left hook to Pilar's liver.  
Soza lands a right uppercut to the body followed by a right hook to the head.  
Pilar feints a left, and then attempts to land a jab, but Soza slips the shot and counters with a right hook.

Soza cuts off the ring, trapping Pilar in the corner.  Pilar lands a right uppercut.  
Pilar attempts to land a jab, but Soza sidesteps and counters with a solid right hook.  
Soza is looking to close the distance and lands two right hooks to his opponents ribs.  
Pilar tries to step out of his opponents range.  Soza snaps his opponents head back with a spiteful jab.

Soza switches the action to the outside and lands two consecutive straights to his opponents head.  
Soza advances into close range.  Soza pivots to the right of his opponent and lands a firm right hook.  
Pilar is looking to keep the action on the outside and is on target with a sharp jab.  
Pilar circles his opponent with a low guard, waiting for his opponent to attack.  Soza finds the target with a jab.  
Soza steps inside.  Soza pivots from in front of his opponent and lands a left hook.  
Pilar switches the action to the outside and is on target with a cross to his opponents body.  
Soza steps inside.  Soza pivots to the right of his opponent and digs in a firm left hook to his opponents liver.

Soza manouvers his opponent into a corner.  Soza pivots to the right of his opponent and lands a left uppercut to the body, a right uppercut to the body and a right uppercut to the head.  Pilar now appears to have recovered from that earlier shot.  
Soza pivots to the left of his opponent and lands a right hook, left hook and a right hook to his opponents body.
