Boxing Daily Report from the North Star Boxing promoted show at Chicago Home, Chicago,  taking place on 14/05/2025:

There are a few empty seats out here tonight, but this is a respectable turnout for the show.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 12 round matchup are Michael Nieves (9(3) - 0) who hails from Long Beach, USA and Sam Montez(4 - 15(1) - 1) from San Diego, USA.  Both Nieves and Montez weighed in at 154 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Ethan Bukowski, and the three ringside judges are Rex McNiven, Will Girvin and Rob Dockter.  

Round 1: 

Nieves advances into close range.  Nieves lands two right hooks followed by a left hook to his opponents head.  Nieves ties up his opponent.  Nieves is using his forearm in the clinch.  The referee breaks the clinch and warns Nieves to stop fouling.  
Nieves pivots to the side of his opponent.  Nieves tries to land a left hook, but Montez slips the shot and counters with a right uppercut to Nieves's ribcage.  
Nieves is on target with a left uppercut to his opponents body.  Nieves clinches his opponent.  Nieves leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. Nieves tries to make the space to throw a hook, but hits Montez behind the head. 
Nieves walks Montez down, trapping him in a neutral corner.  Nieves quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and is on target with a left hook.  
Nieves pivots to the right of his opponent.  Montez attempts to land a left hook, but Nieves slips the shot and counters with a left uppercut.
