Angel Cotto vs Duncan McAskill

Boxing Daily Report from the Mr. Vicious promoted show at Royal Dublin Society, Dublin,  taking place on 12/04/2025:

The venue is mostly sold out with the fans eager to turn out for tonights fights.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 4 round matchup are Angel Cotto (1 - 0) who hails from Ciudad Guayana, Venezuela and Duncan McAskill(3 - 3 - 3) from Dundalk, Ireland.  Cotto weighed in at 117 pounds and 12 ounces, while McAskill weighed in at 118 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Lorcan Coleman, and the three ringside judges are Lewis Carroll, Leeroy MacEwan and Rob Nesmith.  

Round 1: 

Cotto sidesteps to the right of his opponent and is on target with a jab.  
Cotto advances into close range and drives a left hook into McAskill's body.

Cotto is looking to close the distance and drives a right hook into McAskill's body.  
Cotto pivots to the side of his opponent and lands a double left hook to his opponents head.  
Cotto advances into close range and lands a left hook to the body followed by a right hook to the head.  
McAskill switches the action to the outside.  Cotto lands a cross followed by a jab to his opponents head.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...McAskill's trainer is suggesting ways of getting through to his opponent.  McAskill's trainer is telling his fighter he needs to be more active or he's going to get outworked.  McAskill's trainer is passing on some tactical advice.

Cotto manages to force McAskill into the red corner.  Cotto lands a left hook followed by a right hook to his opponents head.  He then lands a right hook followed by a left hook to his opponents body.  
Cotto lands a right hook to the body followed by a left hook to the head.  
Cotto pivots to the left of his opponent and is on target with a left hook.  
Cotto drives a left hook into McAskill's body.  
Cotto gets on the inside.  Cotto quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and is on target with a left hook to McAskill's ribs.
