Phil Gilchrist vs Michael Hyslop

Boxing Daily Report from the Baddog promoted show at Tait McKenzie Centre, Toronto,  taking place on 12/05/2025:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 8 round matchup are Phil Gilchrist (2 - 0) who hails from Brampton, Canada and Michael Hyslop(9 - 8 - 1) from Markham, Canada.  Both Gilchrist and Hyslop weighed in at 135 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Dave Suit, and the three ringside judges are Joel Griffin, Bellamy Batiste and Dylan Morris.  

Round 1: 

Hyslop gets on the inside.  Gilchrist is on target with a right hook to Hyslop's ribcage.  
Gilchrist feints a jab, and then lands a cross followed by a jab to his opponents head.

The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.  Hyslop wants to work on the inside, but accidentally clashes heads with his opponent!  The ref acknowledges the accidental headclash but allows the action to continue.    It looks like the clash of heads has caused some damage to Gilchrist.  That has caused minor swelling  around the right eye.  
Gilchrist throws a left hook, but is not on target.  Gilchrist clinches his opponent.  Gilchrist is using his forearm in the clinch.  The referee breaks the clinch and warns Gilchrist to stop fouling.  
Hyslop manouvers his opponent onto the ropes.  Gilchrist digs in a right hook to his opponents body.  
Gilchrist switches the action to the outside.  Gilchrist sidesteps to the left of his opponent and lands an overhand right followed by a cross to his opponents head.  
At the end of Round 2, lets listen in on the corners...Hyslop's trainer is advising how he could be more accurate.  Hyslop's trainer is advising how he could stop so many clean shots getting through.
