Neville Damita vs Jibran Melgar

Boxing Daily Report from the Quick Tan Promotions promoted show at Standard Bank Arena, Johannesburg,  taking place on 26/04/2025:

Clearly Quick Tan Promotions have made a mistake booking this venue with less than half the tickets sold, including those handed out as prizes by Boxing Daily.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Neville Damita (11(3) - 0) who hails from Douala, Cameroon and Jibran Melgar(3 - 1 - 1) from Casablanca, Morocco.  Both Damita and Melgar weighed in at 118 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Peter Oosthuizen, and the three ringside judges are Quoitrel Sotyu, Peter Mbalula and Bernardus Hertzog.  

Round 1: 

Damita closes the distance and lands a right uppercut to the head followed by a right hook to the body.  Damita holds on to his opponent.  Damita hits his opponent with a kidney shot within the clinch. The ref halts the action and breaks the clinch.  He lectures Damita about fouling.  
Melgar tries to step out of his opponents range.  Damita lands a straight 1 - 2.  
Damita sidesteps to the left of his opponent and snaps his opponents head back with a hard jab.
