Chris Lisoko vs Paul Vermeulen

Boxing Daily Report from the Quick Tan Promotions promoted show at Ofosu-Ayeh Gym, Khayelitsha,  taking place on 18/04/2025:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 6 round matchup are Chris Lisoko (6 - 0) who hails from Tembisa, South Africa and Paul Vermeulen(0 - 2) from Durban, South Africa.  Lisoko weighed in at 174 pounds and 9 ounces, while Vermeulen weighed in at 175 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Laken Ako, and the three ringside judges are Runako Mashaba, Madisha Mini and Rob Ndombe.  

Round 1: 

Vermeulen is looking to keep his distance.  Lisoko feints a jab, tricking Vermeulen into countering with a right hook.  Lisoko is waiting for the shot and counters with a right hook.

Lisoko feints a cross, tricking Vermeulen into launching a cross counter.  Lisoko springs the trap, countering with  a left uppercut to Vermeulen's body.  
Lisoko advances into close range and lands a right hook.  
Vermeulen switches the action to the outside.  Lisoko lands a cross, jab and a cross to his opponents head.  
Lisoko lands with a spiteful jab.  
Lisoko steps inside and is on target with a right hook to Vermeulen's body.

Vermeulen is clearly losing his cool here!    He throws a hook, and catches Lisoko low!  The ref stops the action and tells Vermeulen to keep his punches above the belt.  He gives Lisoko time to recover.
