Alec Marrs vs Chris Donalson

Boxing Daily Report from the Slick Rick Promotions promoted show at Papatoetoe Cosmopolitan Club, Auckland,  taking place on 28/04/2025:

Clearly Slick Rick Promotions have made a mistake booking this venue with less than half the tickets sold, including those handed out as prizes by Boxing Daily.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 6 round matchup are Alec Is there life on Marrs (0 - 0) who hails from Auckland, New Zealand and Chris Donalson(2 - 5 - 2) from Auckland, New Zealand.  Both Marrs and Donalson weighed in at 200 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Waraki Kawau, and the three ringside judges are Jake Smith, Kenzie Anderson and Ian Skene.  

Round 1: 

Marrs finds the target with a jab.  
Donalson advances into close range.  Marrs pivots to the left of his opponent.  Donalson attempts to land a right hook, but Marrs slips the shot and counters with a left uppercut.

Marrs gets on the inside.  Marrs sidesteps to the right of his opponent.  Marrs lands a left hook.  Marrs ties up his opponent.  Marrs leans on his opponent using all his weight. Marrs pushes his forearm into Donalson's face.  The ref separates the two fighters.  
Marrs pivots to the right of his opponent and hits home with a left uppercut.  
Marrs pivots to the right of his opponent and lands a left hook.  
Marrs throws a right hook, but his opponent parries the shot and counters with a left hook.  
Marrs pivots to the right of his opponent and lands a sharp jab.  
Marrs connects with a left hook.  
Marrs lands a cross.  
Marrs pivots to the left of his opponent and lands a right hook followed by a left uppercut to his opponents head.  
Marrs leans back on the ropes...he waves his opponent in!  Donalson is whaling away with hooks, but Marrs keeps his defence tight.  
Marrs lands a left hook to the body, a left hook to the head and a left uppercut to the head.  Marrs ties up his opponent.  Donalson is using his forearm in the clinch.  The referee separates the two fighters and warns Donalson.  
Marrs lands a right hook to the body, a right uppercut to the head and a left uppercut to the head.  
Marrs drives a right hook into Donalson's ribcage.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Donalson's trainer is advising how he could be more accurate.  Donalson's trainer is telling his fighter to increase his workrate.

Marrs pushes his forearm into Donalson's face.  The ref halts the action and breaks the clinch.  He lectures Marrs about fouling.

The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.  The two boxers are fighting in-close, but their heads clash!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Marrs dabs at his face checking for damage.    That accidental headbutt has resulted in some damage to Marrs.  That has caused minor swelling  around the left eye.
