Leeroy Lone vs Matt Ngugi

Boxing Daily Report from the AI Kenya-Nairobi promoted show at Nairobi Iria, Nairobi,  taking place on 24/05/2025:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the Kenya-Nairobi Flyweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance and those watching live on KTV, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Leeroy Lone (6 - 5 - 1) who hails from Nairobi, Kenya and Matt Ngugi(7 - 7 - 1) from Nairobi, Kenya.  Lone weighed in at 112 pounds, while Ngugi weighed in at 111 pounds and 10 ounces.  
The referee tonight is Rehan Abed, and the three ringside judges are Luister Mutahi, Shaun Chelangat and Kashif Haque.  

Round 1: 

Lone closes the distance.  Ngugi pivots to the side of his opponent and lands a left hook to the body, and then to the head.  
Ngugi switches the action to the outside and is on target with a cross.  
Ngugi steps away from his opponent and drives a cross into Lone's body.  
Ngugi feints a jab, but Lone does not fall for it and lands with a left uppercut.
