Boxing Daily Report from the Hennessy Boxing promoted show at Geelong Baseball Centre, Geelong,  taking place on 14/06/2025:

There are a few empty seats out here tonight, but this is a respectable turnout for the show.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  On the line tonight is the Asia-Oceania Super Middleweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance and those watching live on SBS1, the two fighters competing in this 12 round matchup are Ricky Newall (10 - 2) who hails from Sydney, Australia and Ashley Maddix(13 - 6(3)) from Manukau, New Zealand.  Newall weighed in at 167 pounds And 15 ounces, while Maddix weighed in at 168 pounds.  
The referee tonight is James Christou, and the three ringside judges are Alastair Mun, Bruce Munhall and Obaid Kamali.

Maddix steps inside.  Newall throws a left hook, but is unable to find the target.  Newall holds on to his opponent.  Maddix uses his free hand to throw a body hook, but it lands on Newall's kidney. The referee separates the two fighters and warns Maddix.  
Maddix lands a ramrod jab.

Maddix tries to step out of his opponents range.  Maddix drops his guard, and stalks his opponent...he wants his opponent to throw a shot.  Newall lands three consecutive jabs to his opponents head.  
Maddix throws a jab, but his opponent slips the shot and counters with a cross.  
Maddix lands a cross followed by a left hook to his opponents head.  
Maddix pivots to the side of his opponent.  Newall lands three consecutive jabs to his opponents head.

Maddix sidesteps to the left of his opponent.  Newall lands a cross.  
Maddix pivots to the left of his opponent and lands a double right hook to his opponents head.  
Newall throws a left hook, but is not on target.  Newall ties up his opponent.  Newall tries to make the space to throw a hook, but hits Maddix's kidney. Maddix is using his forearm in the clinch.  The ref halts the action and breaks the clinch.  He lectures Maddix about fouling.
