Shayan Sharif vs Steven Colie

Boxing Daily Report from the Smoking Joe promoted show at Theater Center, Los Angeles,  taking place on 02/06/2025:

There are a few empty seats out here tonight, but this is a respectable turnout for the show.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 8 round matchup are Shayan Sharif (9(7) - 0) who hails from Bakersfield, USA and Steven Colie(11 - 13(1) - 1) from Santa Ana, USA.  Sharif weighed in at 134 pounds and 12 ounces, while Colie weighed in at 135 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Ethan Queen, and the three ringside judges are Dominic Pollino, Alastair Hankin and John Summerfield.  

Round 1: 

Sharif lands a jab to the head followed by a right uppercut to the body.  
Sharif gets on the inside.  Sharif pivots to the side of his opponent.  Sharif hits home with a right hook.  Sharif clinches his opponent.  As they grapple, Sharif pushes his forearm into Colie's face.  The ref breaks Sharif's hold and signals for the fight to continue.  
Sharif steps inside and walks Colie into a corner.  Sharif lands a left hook followed by a left uppercut to his opponents head.  Sharif ties up his opponent.  As they grapple, Sharif pushes his forearm into Colie's face.  The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.  
Sharif lands a right hook.  Sharif throws a left hook, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a right uppercut to Sharif's body.  
Sharif lands a right hook to the body, and then to the head.  Sharif ties up his opponent.  As they grapple, Sharif pushes his forearm into Colie's face.  The referee breaks the clinch and warns Sharif to stop fouling.  
Sharif steps away from his opponent and lands an overhand left followed by a cross to his opponents head.  
Sharif gets on the inside.  Colie throws a left hook, but Sharif clinches his opponent.  Sharif is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. Sharif throws a hook within the clinch but hits his opponent behind the head. 
Sharif lands a straight 1 - 2.  
Sharif steps to the outside and lands a cross, overhand left and an overhand right to his opponents head.  
Sharif advances into close range and lands a right hook to the body, and then to the head.  
Sharif is on target with a sharp right hook.  
Sharif sidesteps to the right of his opponent and lands a right hook followed by a left hook to his opponents head.  
Sharif steps inside and lands a left hook to the body, a right hook to the body and a left hook to the head.  
Sharif gets on the inside and lands a left hook to the body followed by a right uppercut to the head.  
Sharif advances into close range and is on target with a right hook.  
Sharif gets on the inside and hits home with a left hook.  
Sharif lands a left uppercut followed by a left hook to his opponents head.  
Sharif pivots from in front of his opponent and digs in a right uppercut to Colie's ribs.  
Sharif gets on the inside.  Sharif quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and lands a left hook to the body, a left hook to the head and a right hook to the body.  
Sharif is looking to close the distance.  Colie throws a left uppercut, but Sharif holds on to his opponent.  Sharif is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. Sharif throws a hook within the clinch but hits his opponent behind the head. The ref halts the action and breaks the clinch.  He lectures Sharif about fouling.  
Sharif is looking to keep the action on the outside and connects with a sharp cross.  
Sharif drives a solid right uppercut into his opponents body.  
Sharif closes the distance and is on target with a right hook to Colie's body.  
Sharif lands two consecutive straights to his opponents head.  
Sharif switches the action to the outside and lands an overhand right, cross and a jab to his opponents head.

Colie tries to land a right hook, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a FEARSOME cross.  COLIE WAS STUNNED BY THAT SHOT!  Colie almost instantly gets his legs back.

Sharif manouvers his opponent into the corner.  Sharif connects with a solid left uppercut.  
Sharif is looking to keep his distance and lands a cross followed by a jab to his opponents head.

Colie tries to keep the action at long range.  Sharif lands with a ramrod jab.  
Sharif advances into close range.  Sharif pivots from in front of his opponent and lands a double left hook to his opponents head.

Sharif walks Colie into a neutral corner.  Sharif lands a left hook, right hook and a left hook to his opponents body.  
Sharif pivots from in front of his opponent.  Colie lands a left hook.  
Sharif lands a left uppercut to the body followed by a right uppercut to the head.  
Sharif steps inside and lands a firm left hook.  
Sharif gets on the inside and is on target with a forceful left hook.  COLIE IS HURT!  Colie quickly recovers. 
Sharif pivots to the right of his opponent and is on target with a stinging left hook to his opponents body.

Colie is not fighting as well as he'd like.   He swings an uppercut into his opponents groin! The ref halts the action and sends Sharif to the neutral corner.    He warns Colie that he is heading for a point deduction.  
Sharif advances into close range and lands a right hook to the head followed by a left hook to the body.  
Colie throws a right hook, but his opponent slips the shot and counters with a big right hook.  IT LOOKS LIKE COLIE WAS HURT BY THAT SHOT!  
Sharif thinks he can end the show early....he's looking to put Colie away.  Sharif lands a left hook followed by  two right uppercuts to his opponents head, AND SENDS COLIE TO THE CANVAS!  He is on his feet as the count reaches 5.  Colie now appears to have recovered from that earlier shot.  
Colie is on target with a jab.  
Sharif closes the distance.  Colie throws a left hook, but his opponent dodges the shot and counters with a firm right uppercut.

Sharif drives a firm right uppercut into his opponents body.  
Sharif closes the distance.  Sharif hits home with a left hook.  As Colie tries to work on the inside, the fighters heads come together!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Sharif dabs at his face checking for damage.  
Sharif gets on the inside and lands a right hook to the head followed by a left uppercut to the body, AND STUNS HIS OPPONENT!  Colie recovers before his opponent can take advantage. 
Sharif walks Colie into a neutral corner.  Sharif lands a solid right hook.  
Sharif steps to the outside and lands an overhand right followed by  two jabs to his opponents head.  
Sharif is looking to close the distance and hits home with a solid right hook.  
Sharif is on target with a right hook.  Sharif holds on to his opponent.  Sharif leans on his opponent using all his weight. The ref separates the two fighters.  
Sharif drives a right hook into his opponents body.  
Sharif is looking to close the distance and lands a double right hook to his opponents head.  He continues the combination and lands a double left hook to his opponents head.

Sharif advances into close range and lands a left hook to the head, a left uppercut to the body and a right hook to the head, AND DROPS COLIE TO THE CANVAS!  He beats the count, getting up at 8.  
Some sustained pressure from Sharif could be enough to finish Colie!  Sharif lands two consecutive straights to his opponents head, KNOCKING COLIE DOWN!  He tries to rise but his legs dont respond...the count reaches 10!  The winner by KO is Sharif!
