Boxing Daily Report from the AI Saudi Arabia-East promoted show at Riyadh Qadir, Riyadh,  taking place on 01/06/2025:

There are plenty of empty seats out here tonight, with the show nowhere near close to selling out.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the Saudi Arabia Super Bantamweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 12 round matchup are Umair Asfour (8 - 6 - 4) who hails from Riyadh, Saudi Arabia and Ibrahim Barkett(10 - 4) from Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.  Both Asfour and Barkett weighed in at 122 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Zain Farrah, and the three ringside judges are Jawad Allan, Amer Malley and Malik Mansoor.  

Round 1: 

Asfour is looking to keep his distance.  Barkett lands a cross.  
Asfour connects with a cross.  
Barkett pivots from in front of his opponent and lands a left hook.  
Barkett gets on the inside.  Barkett attempts to land an uppercut to the solar plexus, but he strays low!  The ref ignores Asfour's complaints and signals for the action to continue.

As Barkett tries to work on the inside, the fighters heads come together!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Asfour dabs at his face checking for damage.    That accidental headbutt has resulted in some damage to Asfour.  That has caused slight swelling  around the left eye.  
Asfour tries to keep the action at long range.  Asfour feints a cross, and then hits home with an overhand left.  
Barkett quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent.  Barkett throws an overhand right, but his opponent parries the shot and counters with a cross.  
Barkett advances into close range and lands a left uppercut.
