Mel Kidd vs Lorcan Donovan

Boxing Daily Report from the RJM Boxing promoted show at O2 Academy Leicester, Leicester,  taking place on 30/05/2025:

Clearly RJM Boxing have made a mistake booking this venue with less than half the tickets sold, including those handed out as prizes by Boxing Daily.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Mel Kidd (9 - 3(1)) who hails from Sheffield, UK and Lorcan Donovan(1 - 16 - 1) from Sligo, Ireland.  Kidd weighed in at 239 pounds and 3 ounces, while Donovan weighed in at 258 pounds and 1 ounces.  
The referee tonight is Blake Forgie, and the three ringside judges are Wayne Atcheson, Ewan Sprout and Iain Cooper.  

Round 1: 

Kidd gets on the inside.  Kidd sidesteps to the right of his opponent and lands a right hook, left hook and a right hook to his opponents head.

Donovan's trainer is telling his fighter he needs to be more active or he's going to get outworked.  Donovan's trainer is advising how he could stop so many clean shots getting through.

Kidd tries to land a right uppercut, but Donovan blocks the shot and counters with a right hook.  
Kidd is looking to close the distance.  Kidd lands a left hook to the body, and then to the head.  Kidd attempts to land an uppercut to the solar plexus, but he strays low!  The ref stops the action and gives Donovan time to recover.
