Sean Aikens vs Floyd Riggins

Boxing Daily Report from the Melvin Grayshock Promotions promoted show at Melvin Gym, San Diego,  taking place on 30/05/2025:

The venue is mostly sold out with the fans eager to turn out for tonights fights.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 8 round matchup are Sean Aikens (3 - 1) who hails from Tuscaloosa, USA and Floyd Riggins(1 - 1 - 1) from Chicago, USA.  Both Aikens and Riggins weighed in at 122 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Henry Franco, and the three ringside judges are Joey Brice, Patrick Barro and Glynn Flockhart.  

Round 1: 

Aikens is on target with a jab.  Aikens tries to land a jab, but Riggins slips the shot and counters with a left uppercut.

Aikens lands two consecutive straights to his opponents head.  
Aikens hits home with a sharp jab.  
Riggins cuts off the ring, trapping Aikens on the ropes.  Aikens throws a short cross to the body, but lands low!  The ref stops the action and gives Riggins time to recover.  
Riggins steps inside.  Riggins pivots to the right of his opponent.  Aikens drives a left hook into his opponents liver.  As the two fighters work on the inside, their heads come together!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Aikens dabs at his face checking for damage.
