Fidel Cara vs Xavier Vilchez

Boxing Daily Report from the Rattlesnake Promotions promoted show at Don Haskins Convention Center, El Paso,  taking place on 20/06/2025:

There are a few empty seats out here tonight, but this is a respectable turnout for the show.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance and those watching live on Fox Sports, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Fidel Cara (23(21) - 0) who hails from Ponce, Puerto Rico and Xavier Vilchez(9(1) - 5) from Chipancingo, Mexico.  Both Cara and Vilchez weighed in at 112 pounds.  
The referee tonight is James Crum, and the three ringside judges are Mike Ruane, Corey Barnes and Orlando Merlin.  

Round 1: 

Cara closes the distance and digs in a firm right uppercut to his opponents body.  
Cara is on target with a firm left hook.  
Vilchez lands a stinging jab.  
Cara lands a cross followed by a jab to his opponents head.  
Cara advances into close range and lands a double right hook to his opponents head.  
Cara digs in a solid left hook to Vilchez's body.  
Cara hits home with a left hook.  
Vilchez digs in a left hook to his opponents body.  
Vilchez lands a right uppercut to the head followed by a right hook to the body.  
Cara lands a double left hook to his opponents head.  THAT HURT HIS OPPONENT!  Vilchez almost instantly gets his legs back. 
Cara connects with a solid right hook.  
Vilchez lands a left hook to the body, and then to the head.  
Cara throws a right hook, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a right hook.  
Vilchez throws a left hook, but Cara ties up his opponent.  As they grapple, Vilchez pushes his forearm into Cara's face.  The referee separates the two fighters and warns Vilchez.  
Cara connects with a sharp right hook.  
Cara gets on the inside and lands two consecutive left uppercuts to his opponents head.  
Cara lands a left uppercut to the body, a right hook to the head and a left hook to the body.  
Cara is on target with a jab.  
Cara gets on the inside and is on target with a left hook to his opponents body.  
Cara tries to land a jab, but Vilchez slips the shot and counters with a solid left uppercut.  
Cara hits home with a left hook.  
Vilchez forces Cara to back into the ropes.  Vilchez lands with a solid jab.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Vilchez's trainer is advising how he could be more accurate.  Vilchez's trainer is telling his fighter he is being outworked and needs to throw more.

Round 2: 

Cara gets on the inside and lands a right hook followed by a left hook to his opponents body.  Cara clinches his opponent.  Vilchez leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. As they grapple, Cara pushes his forearm into Vilchez's face.  The ref breaks Cara's hold and signals for the fight to continue.  
Vilchez lands a double left hook to his opponents head.  
Vilchez throws a left hook, but his opponent slips the shot and counters with a left hook.  
Cara lands a straight 1 - 2.  
Cara closes the distance and hits home with a left hook.  
Vilchez is on target with a solid left hook.  
Vilchez pivots from in front of his opponent and lands a right uppercut to the body, a left hook to the head and a cross to the head.  
Cara pivots to the right of his opponent and is on target with a jab.  
Vilchez tries to land a right uppercut, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a left hook.  
Vilchez walks his opponent onto the ropes.  Vilchez lands a firm cross.  
Vilchez advances into close range and is on target with a solid left hook.  
Vilchez lands a sharp left hook.  
Cara steps inside and lands a left hook to the head, a right uppercut to the head and a right hook to the body.  THAT HURT HIS OPPONENT!  
Vilchez now seems to have recovered from the bodyshot.  
Vilchez drives a left uppercut into Cara's liver.  
Vilchez lands two left hooks to the body, and one to the head.  Cara clinches his opponent.  Cara leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. Cara pushes his forearm into Vilchez's face.  The ref breaks Cara's hold and signals for the fight to continue.  
Cara gets on the inside.  Vilchez throws a left hook, but Cara ties up his opponent.  Vilchez tries to make the space to throw a hook, but hits Cara's kidney. 
Cara digs in a left uppercut to his opponents body.  
Cara is on target with a stinging left hook to Vilchez's body.  
Vilchez hits home with a left hook.  
Vilchez is looking to close the distance.  Cara pivots from in front of his opponent and lands a left hook.  
Cara digs in a forceful left hook to his opponents body.  VILCHEZ WAS STUNNED BY THAT SHOT!  Cara holds on to his opponent.  Cara pushes his forearm into Vilchez's face.  The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.  
Some sustained pressure from Cara could be enough to finish Vilchez!  Cara lands a left hook, right hook and a left hook to his opponents body, AND SENDS VILCHEZ TO THE CANVAS!  He manages to get up at 6.  
Cara whips in a big right uppercut to Vilchez's body.  VILCHEZ IS DROPPED TO THE CANVAS!  He beats the count, getting up at 4.  
Vilchez closes the distance.  Cara whips in a DEVASTATING right hook to his opponents ribs.  VILCHEZ IS SENT SPRAWLING TO THE CANVAS!  THE REF DOES NOT EVEN BOTHER WITH THE COUNT...HE'S SEEN ENOUGH AND HAS STOPPED THE FIGHT!  The fight has been stopped!  The winner by TKO is Cara!
