Jun Takeuchi vs Gig Montiel

Boxing Daily Report from the ノックアウトボクシング promoted show at Korakuen Hall, Tokyo,  taking place on 21/06/2025:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Jun Takeuchi (10(1) - 0) who hails from Kobe, Japan and Gig Montiel(9 - 3(1)) from Panama City, Panama.  Takeuchi weighed in at 107 pounds And 14 ounces, while Montiel weighed in at 108 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Kazuhiko Ide, and the three ringside judges are Isamu Shibuya, Yuji Tsutsumi and Hisoka Enomoto.  

Round 1:

Montiel is looking to close the distance and forces Takeuchi to retreat onto the ropes.  Takeuchi lands a stinging right hook.  The two boxers are fighting in-close, but their heads clash!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Montiel dabs at his face checking for damage.

That accidental headbutt has resulted in some damage to Montiel.  That has caused bad swelling  around the right eye.
