Antonio Capetillo vs Seferino Diaz

Boxing Daily Report from the AI Puerto Rico-Ponce promoted show at Lorenzo Robles Gym, Ponce,  taking place on 13/06/2025:

Clearly AI Puerto Rico-Ponce have made a mistake booking this venue with less than half the tickets sold, including those handed out as prizes by Boxing Daily.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 6 round matchup are Antonio Capetillo (1 - 0) who hails from Acapulco, Mexico and Seferino Diaz(0 - 4) from Carolina, Puerto Rico.  Both Capetillo and Diaz weighed in at 200 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Beltran Correira, and the three ringside judges are Ivan Magro, Beltran Correira and Lorenzo Capo.  

Round 1: 

Diaz gets on the inside.  Capetillo lands a right hook to the body, and then to the head.  Diaz wants to work on the inside, but accidentally clashes heads with his opponent!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Capetillo dabs at his face checking for damage.

Capetillo pivots to the right of his opponent and lands a left hook to the head, a right hook to the body and a left uppercut to the head.  
Capetillo gets on the inside.  Capetillo pivots to the right of his opponent and lands a double left hook to his opponents head.  
Capetillo switches the action to the outside and is on target with a jab to Diaz's body.  
Capetillo closes the distance and lands two left hooks followed by a left uppercut to his opponents head.  
Capetillo steps to the outside and lands a jab to the body, and then to the head.  
Diaz is looking to close the distance.  Capetillo quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and lands a left hook.  
Capetillo closes the distance.  Capetillo sidesteps to the left of his opponent.  Diaz throws a left hook, but Capetillo ties up his opponent.  Capetillo pushes his forearm into Diaz's face.  The ref breaks Capetillo's hold and signals for the fight to continue.  
Capetillo tries to keep the action at long range and lands with a stinging jab.  
Capetillo lands a double jab to his opponents head.  He then lands an overhand right followed by a cross to his opponents head.  
Capetillo gets on the inside and lands two left hooks to the body, and one to the head.

Diaz tries to land a jab, but Capetillo dodges the shot and counters with a right uppercut.  
Capetillo lands a spiteful jab.  
Diaz closes the distance.  Capetillo hits home with a firm left hook.  
Capetillo is on target with a left uppercut to his opponents ribs.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Diaz's trainer is advising how he could improve the accuracy of his work.  Diaz's trainer is telling his fighter he needs to be more active or he's going to get outworked.
