Sam Burns vs Matt Connolly

Boxing Daily Report from the Gold Coast Promotions promoted show at Sunshine Coast Stadium, Sunshine Coast,  taking place on 26/07/2025:

The venue is mostly sold out with the fans eager to turn out for tonights fights.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  This is a mandatory fight for the Australia Featherweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance and those watching live on SBS1, the two fighters competing in this 12 round matchup are Sam Burns (12 - 0) who hails from Perth, Australia and Matt Connolly(12 - 0) from Adelaide, Australia.  Both Burns and Connolly weighed in at 126 pounds.  
The referee tonight is James Westwood, and the three ringside judges are Robert Reekie, Giorgio Lombardo and Joel Glines.
