Harri Astala vs Tenho Suomi

Boxing Daily Report from the Wekinky Promotions promoted show at Toolo Sports Hall, Helsinki,  taking place on 14/07/2025:

Clearly Wekinky Promotions have made a mistake booking this venue with less than half the tickets sold, including those handed out as prizes by Boxing Daily.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance and those watching live on Nelonen, the two fighters competing in this 12 round matchup are Harri Astala (10(1) - 0) who hails from Helsinki, Finland and Tenho Suomi(9 - 6 - 4) from Espoo, Finland.  Both Astala and Suomi weighed in at 147 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Erkki Hattonen, and the three ringside judges are Eemil Porkka, Pekka Waisanen and Hannu Perko.  

Round 1: 

Suomi quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent.  Suomi throws a jab, but his opponent slips the shot and counters with a left hook.  
Astala steps inside and lands a left hook to the head, a right hook to the head and a right hook to the body.  
Astala stalks forward with a low guard, trying to draw a lead from his opponent.  Suomi attempts to land a jab, but Astala slips the shot and counters with a cross.  
Astala gets on the inside and throws a right hook, but his opponent steps away from the punch.  Astala clinches his opponent.  Suomi pushes his forearm into Astala's face.  The ref breaks Astala's hold and signals for the fight to continue.  
Astala feints a cross, and then lands a hard jab.  
Astala gets on the inside.  Astala pivots to the side of his opponent and lands a right uppercut to the body followed by a right hook to the head.  
Astala sidesteps to the right of his opponent.  Suomi throws a left hook, but Astala holds on to his opponent.  Astala is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. Astala is using his forearm in the clinch.  The ref separates the two fighters.  
Astala steps to the outside.  Astala drops his hands, and waves his opponent in.  Suomi tries to land a cross, but Astala sidesteps and counters with a sharp cross.  
Suomi gets on the inside.  Astala sidesteps to the left of his opponent and lands a right hook followed by a left hook to his opponents head.  
Astala steps inside.  Astala retreats back to the ropes, and waits for his opponent to attack.  Suomi is whaling away with hooks, but Astala keeps his defence tight.  
Astala lands a double right hook to his opponents head.  Astala ties up his opponent.  Astala is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. Astala pushes his forearm into Suomi's face.  The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.  
Astala lands a right hook followed by a left hook to his opponents head.  
Suomi sidesteps to the left of his opponent.  Suomi throws a right hook, but Astala clinches his opponent.  Astala pushes his forearm into Suomi's face.  The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.

Astala advances into close range.  The two boxers are fighting in-close, but their heads clash!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Suomi dabs at his face checking for damage.  Suomi has been damaged by that accidental headbutt.  That has caused minor swelling  around the right eye.

At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Suomi's trainer is suggesting ways of getting through to his opponent.  Suomi's trainer is telling his fighter he needs to be more active or he's going to get outworked.  Suomi's trainer is advising how he could stop so many clean shots getting through.

Frustration is starting to boil over for Suomi now.   He throws a low uppercut...that landed south of the border! The ref halts the action and sends Astala to the neutral corner.    He has a stern word with Suomi and warns that a point will be deducted if he continues to foul.

Astala gets on the inside and lands a right hook to the head, a left hook to the body and a right hook to the head.  
Astala lands a right hook followed by a cross to his opponents head.

He continues the combination and lands two left hook's to the body followed by a right uppercut to the head, DROPPING SUOMI TO THE CANVAS!  The ref waves off the fight.  He does not believe Suomi can continue!  The fight has been stopped!  The winner by TKO is Astala!
