Luis Sanchez vs Lorenzo Merlo

Boxing Daily Report from the Smoking Joe promoted show at Civic Auditorium, San Jose,  taking place on 14/07/2025:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the North American Featherweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance and those watching live on MSG Network, the two fighters competing in this 12 round matchup are Luis Sanchez (19(9) - 0) who hails from Celaya, Mexico and Lorenzo Merlo(14 - 5(2) - 1) from Mexico City, Mexico.  Sanchez weighed in at 126 pounds, while Merlo weighed in at 125 pounds and 13 ounces.  
The referee tonight is James Ruan, and the three ringside judges are Sam Lowe, Stuart Purcell and Ethan Queen.
