Andy Blair vs Matthew Mohan

Boxing Daily Report from the RJM Boxing promoted show at Cardiff City Hall, Cardiff,  taking place on 26/07/2025:

There are a few empty seats out here tonight, but this is a respectable turnout for the show.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance and those watching live on Sky Sports, the two fighters competing in this 8 round matchup are Andy Blair (8 - 0) who hails from Glasgow, UK and Matthew Mohan(10 - 6) from Waterford, Ireland.  Blair weighed in at 242 pounds And 2 ounces, while Mohan weighed in at 253 pounds And 12 ounces.  
The referee tonight is Griffith Batton, and the three ringside judges are Dale Carrick, Edwyn Brodie and Joshua Gillespie.  

Round 1: 

Mohan tries to step out of his opponents range.  Blair lands a jab followed by a overhand right to his opponents head.  
Blair closes the distance and manages to force Mohan onto the ropes.  Blair lands a right hook to the body followed by a right uppercut to the head.  Blair ties up his opponent.  Blair hits his opponent with a kidney shot within the clinch. The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.  
Mohan throws a left hook, but Blair holds on to his opponent.  Blair tries to make the space to throw a hook, but hits Mohan behind the head. Blair leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. Blair is using his forearm in the clinch.  The ref halts the action and breaks the clinch.  He lectures Blair about fouling.  
Mohan is looking to keep his distance.  Blair lands an overhand left.  
Blair hits home with a cross.  
Blair lands a right hook.  
Mohan is looking to keep his distance.  Blair lands an overhand left followed by a cross to his opponents head.  
Blair manages to force Mohan into a corner.  Mohan throws a jab, but his opponent slips the shot and counters with a cross.  
Blair throws a left hook, but the shot is blocked.  Blair clinches his opponent.  Blair throws a hook within the clinch but hits his opponent behind the head. The referee warns Blair and breaks the clinch.  
Blair lands a double right hook to his opponents head.  He follows up the attack and lands a left hook followed by a right hook to his opponents head.  
Blair lands a left hook followed by a right uppercut to his opponents head.  
Blair lands a double right hook to his opponents head.  
Blair gets on the inside and is on target with a left hook to Mohan's body.
