Sam Preece vs David Pugh

Boxing Daily Report from the Montreal's Top Gym promoted show at Montreal's Gym, Montreal,  taking place on 28/06/2025:

The venue is mostly sold out with the fans eager to turn out for tonights fights.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 4 round matchup are Sam Preece (1 - 0) who hails from Winnipeg, Canada and David Pugh(1 - 1 - 2) from Brampton, Canada.  Preece weighed in at 118 pounds, while Pugh weighed in at 117 pounds and 12 ounces.  
The referee tonight is Bruce Hathorne, and the three ringside judges are Sinjon Bellanger, Brendan Aitken and Olier Paradis.  

Round 1: 

Preece advances into close range and lands a stinging left hook.  
Preece lands a cross followed by a left hook to his opponents head.  
Pugh lands a cross.  
Preece forces Pugh to retreat onto the ropes.  Preece lands a right hook to the body, a right uppercut to the head and a left uppercut to the head.

Pugh attempts to land a jab, but Preece sidesteps and counters with a firm right hook.  
Preece steps inside and hits home with a firm right hook.  
Pugh throws a right hook, but Preece ties up his opponent.  Pugh leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. The ref separates the two fighters.  
Preece is looking to close the distance and digs in a stinging right hook to his opponents body.  
Pugh throws a left hook, but Preece holds on to his opponent.  Preece leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. Preece pushes his forearm into Pugh's face.  The ref separates the two fighters.  
Preece pivots to the side of his opponent and connects with a right uppercut.

Pugh is looking to keep the action on the outside and tries to land an overhand right, but his opponent dodges the shot and counters with a left hook.  
Preece advances into close range and digs in a left hook to his opponents body.  Preece clinches his opponent.  The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.
