Sam Watson vs Chris Maguire

Boxing Daily Report from the Elliot Britton promoted show at City Academy Centre, Bristol,  taking place on 05/08/2025:

Clearly Elliot Britton have made a mistake booking this venue with less than half the tickets sold, including those handed out as prizes by Boxing Daily.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the British-Southern England Lightweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Sam Watson (7 - 7 - 1) who hails from London, UK and Chris Maguire(9(1) - 0) from Bristol, UK.  Watson weighed in at 135 pounds, while Maguire weighed in at 134 pounds And 15 ounces.  
The referee tonight is Peter Arras, and the three ringside judges are Alec Monday, Johnny Breckenridge and Colin McCoubrey.  

Round 1: 

Maguire throws a right uppercut, but his opponent avoids the shot.  Maguire clinches his opponent.  Maguire pushes his forearm into Watson's face.  The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.
