Daniel Breen vs Patrick Hogan

Boxing Daily Report from the AI Ireland-Munster promoted show at Waterford McCormick, Waterford,  taking place on 22/07/2025:

Clearly AI Ireland-Munster have made a mistake booking this venue with less than half the tickets sold, including those handed out as prizes by Boxing Daily.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the Irish-Munster Middleweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Daniel Breen (10 - 7 - 3) who hails from Limerick, Ireland and Patrick Hogan(8 - 6 - 3) from Cork, Ireland.  Both Breen and Hogan weighed in at 160 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Sam Brody, and the three ringside judges are Seamus Kavanagh, Felix Curran and Joshua Fylan.  

Round 1: 

Hogan throws a left hook, but Breen ties up his opponent.  Breen is using his forearm in the clinch.  The ref halts the action and breaks the clinch.  He lectures Breen about fouling.  
Breen walks Hogan down, trapping him in the red corner.  Breen digs in a right uppercut to his opponents ribcage.  
Breen lands a right uppercut to the body, a left hook to the body and a left hook to the head.  Breen ties up his opponent.  Breen tries to make the space to throw a hook, but hits Hogan behind the head. The ref halts the action and breaks the clinch.  He lectures Breen about fouling.  
Breen steps inside and lands a right hook to the body, and then to the head.  
Hogan steps away from his opponent and is on target with an overhand right.  
Breen advances into close range.  Breen pivots to the right of his opponent and lands a left hook to the body followed by a right hook to the head.  He follows up the attack and lands a double right hook to his opponents head.

Breen lands a right uppercut.  Breen throws a right hook, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a cross.  
Hogan lands a left hook.  
Breen steps inside and lands a right hook to the head followed by a left hook to the body.  
Hogan steps to the outside.  Breen lands a cross followed by a jab to his opponents head.  
Breen feints a cross, but Hogan is not fooled and lands with a right uppercut.  
Breen gets on the inside and is on target with a right hook to Hogan's body.  Breen holds on to his opponent.  Breen is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. Breen tries to make the space to throw a hook, but hits Hogan's kidney. 
Breen is looking to close the distance.  Breen is on target with a left hook to Hogan's body.  The two boxers are fighting in-close, but their heads clash!  The ref acknowledges the accidental headclash but allows the action to continue.  Breen has been damaged by that accidental headbutt.  That has caused slight swelling  around the right eye.  
Breen lands a right hook to the body followed by a left hook to the head.  He then lands a right uppercut to the head followed by a right hook to the body.  
Breen lands three consecutive right hooks to his opponents ribs.  Breen clinches his opponent.  Breen is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. The ref breaks Breen's hold and signals for the fight to continue.
