Diego Contrera vs Carlos Mauhay

Boxing Daily Report from the Makweembo Promotions promoted show at Manuel Capellan Gym, General Trias,  taking place on 29/07/2025:

Clearly Makweembo Promotions have made a mistake booking this venue with less than half the tickets sold, including those handed out as prizes by Boxing Daily.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the Philippines-Cavite Super Welterweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Diego Contrera (10 - 6 - 4) who hails from Silang, Philippines and Carlos Mauhay(7 - 3 - 2) from Bacoor, Philippines.  Both Contrera and Mauhay weighed in at 154 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Alejandro Telleria, and the three ringside judges are Urvano Dimaporo, Alejandro Alejo and Diego Lakian.  

Round 1: 

Contrera hits home with a left hook.  
Contrera tries to land a left hook, but Mauhay blocks the shot and counters with a right hook.

Mauhay finds the target with a jab.  Mauhay attempts to land a jab, but Contrera blocks the shot and counters with a left hook.  
At the end of Round 2, lets listen in on the corners...Contrera's trainer is telling his fighter he is being outworked and needs to throw more.  Mauhay's trainer is passing on some tactical advice.
