Santiago Valderrama vs Fresco Aceves

Boxing Daily Report from the Aqua Marines Promotions promoted show at Sixto Escobar Stadium, San Juan,  taking place on 02/08/2025:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the Puerto Rico-San Juan Super Bantamweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Santiago Valderrama (8 - 8(1) - 1) who hails from San Juan, Puerto Rico and Fresco Aceves(10 - 3(1) - 1) from San Juan, Puerto Rico.  Both Valderrama and Aceves weighed in at 122 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Xaverius Fallas, and the three ringside judges are Xaverius Rueda, Lisandro Barillas and Alejandro Mayor.  

Round 1: 

Aceves steps inside.  Valderrama throws a right uppercut, but Aceves ties up his opponent.  Aceves pushes his forearm into Valderrama's face.  The referee separates the two fighters and warns Aceves.  
Valderrama switches the action to the outside and finds the target with a jab.  
Aceves is looking to close the distance.  As Aceves tries to work on the inside, the fighters heads come together!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Valderrama dabs at his face checking for damage.  
Aceves hits home with a solid left hook.  Aceves clinches his opponent.  As they grapple, Aceves pushes his forearm into Valderrama's face.  The ref halts the action and breaks the clinch.  He lectures Aceves about fouling.  
Valderrama is looking to keep his distance and lands a cross.  
Aceves gets on the inside and forces Valderrama to back into the red corner.  Aceves lands a right hook.  Aceves throws a left hook, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a left hook.  
Aceves lands a left uppercut followed by a left hook to his opponents head.  
Valderrama steps to the outside and attempts to land a jab, but Aceves sidesteps and counters with a left hook.  
Aceves advances into close range and lands a right uppercut to the body followed by a left uppercut to the head.  
Aceves lands three consecutive left hooks to his opponents ribs.

Aceves pivots to the side of his opponent and drives a right hook into his opponents ribs.  
Valderrama switches the action to the outside and is on target with a jab.  
Aceves gets on the inside.  Aceves pivots to the left of his opponent and is on target with a solid left uppercut.  
Aceves drives a left uppercut into his opponents liver.  
Aceves hits home with a left uppercut.  
Aceves lands a left hook followed by a right hook to his opponents body.  
Aceves lands a right hook followed by a left uppercut to his opponents body.
