Joey Saam vs Ian Gillison

Boxing Daily Report from the Smoking Joe promoted show at Theater Center, Los Angeles,  taking place on 11/08/2025:

The venue is mostly sold out with the fans eager to turn out for tonights fights.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Joey Saam (4(2) - 0) who hails from Cleveland, USA and Ian Gillison(13 - 6 - 6) from Denver, USA.  Both Saam and Gillison weighed in at 135 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Kieran Farm, and the three ringside judges are Vince Aitken, James Keay and Paul Herring.  

Round 1: 

Saam is looking to close the distance and lands a left hook.  Saam ties up his opponent.  Saam is using his forearm in the clinch.  The referee breaks the clinch and warns Saam to stop fouling.  
Saam is looking to close the distance.  Gillison pivots to the right of his opponent.  Gillison throws a right hook, but Saam ties up his opponent.  Saam leans on his opponent using all his weight. The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.

Saam advances into close range and manouvers his opponent into a corner.  Saam is on target with a right hook to his opponents body.  Saam clinches his opponent.  Gillison pushes his forearm into Saam's face.  The ref halts the action and breaks the clinch.  He lectures Gillison about fouling.  
Saam quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and connects with a left uppercut.  
Saam gets on the inside and lands a double left hook to his opponents head.  Saam clinches his opponent.  Saam is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. The ref separates the two fighters.  
Gillison switches the action to the outside.  Saam is on target with a solid jab.  
Saam lands a double jab to his opponents head.  
Saam hits home with a left hook.  
Saam gets on the inside and lands a double left hook to his opponents head.  Saam throws a left uppercut, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a right uppercut.
